Monthly update — June 2008

Sorry about not writing sooner, but the baby is taking up alot of my energy these days. The tiredness has set in again and we’re trying to set up the Law Office. Otherwise, everything is fine.

The baby is coming along just fine. Baby is 34 weeks old now. In three weeks, he/she will be full term and ready to pop. I’m at that waiting stage… I’m ready for the baby to be out and have someone else helping me care for him/her.

As for Rugz, baby#1… she knows something is different about me. She treats me with puppy gloves. She rough-houses with Wil, but she lays at my feet giving me puppy dog eyes all the time. I think she thinks I’m sick with a tumor, God bless her doggie soul.

Back to human baby…We have almost everything we need now, thanks to the Schimmeyer/Lopez families.

For those who want to know what they can give us, here’s a list:

1. Diapers (I figure we’ll do 1/2 cloth and 1/2 disposable. I’m not a big fan of disposable, but I’m not lugging cloth around when we go out)

2. Baby toiletteries (sp?) — wipes, soap, and whatever we need to keep the baby clean.

3. Anything else that baby’s might need? Any opinions on baby bathing stuff?

4. Are Boppy’s really any good?

Here’s what we have: newborn clothes (shirts, shorts, socks, hats, mitts), baby towels, burp clothes and lots of receiving blankets. Car seat, carrier, sling, and even a baby bjorn front carrier. A bouncer. About eight 4-oz bottles with standard nipples. A bottle warmer and sterilizers. And we just purchased a pack-n-play portable crib for he office (K-mart doesn’t seem to have standard cribs under $200.00). Oh yeah, and two single breast breast pumps (my sister sent me an electric Medela, and Wil’s mom sent a manual pump (Avent Isis)).

See, I seem to have all the necessities.

I’ll update as the time gets closer.
